It really is all about your network
I've accepted that the main way people get jobs is through connections. I don't know how to fix this, but now that I have connections, I can use them to boost other people. If you part of an underrepresented group and you apply to any job at Etsy, I will work with recruiting to make sure your resume does actually get looked at. If we are at the level of internet friends where it wouldn't be too weird for me to give you my email, (Roughly: do we follow each other so I can DM it?) I would be up for having an email conversation with you about what job you're looking for and introducing you to someone in my network that might be a good lead or fit.
I hate that this is still using the old network framework, but hopefully my openness about being willing to use it subverts the normal thing where only confident people who don't need it much are willing to ask me to connect them to opportunities. And don't forget: you are allowed to apply!
